The term “Selective Concern” of course commonly refers to the tendency to focus on “certain” issues or causes while “neglecting” others (i.e., prioritizing specific issues, etc., over others . . . often based on emotional appeal or economic value, etc.).
And one need not look far at all for an array of examples. Such as, but not limited to, much of so-called Mainstream Media’s “ongoing” 24/7 selective spot-lighting and detailed coverage of the “missing/abducted persons status” of the mother of an NBC “Today Show” co-host, ever since her reported disappearance February 1, 2026.
“While at the same time” . . . the “missing/abducted persons status” of “countless others,” including many young children, continues to go on day after day, often year after year, with relatively “little to no” media coverage or otherwise widespread awareness and responsible attention! Unspeakable tragedies entailing indescribable suffering . . . ranking shamefully high among the many long-standing and ongoing failings of we the so-called superior species!
